Welcome to the Sutherlin schools,

The Sutherlin School District is the fourth largest district in Douglas County; serving more than 1,300 students in its comprehensive K-12 program. Our district covers approximately 185 square miles in the northeastern region of the Umpqua Valley.

Our four traditional schools include the following: kindergarten through second grade primary school, a third through fifth grade intermediate school, a sixth through eighth grade middle school and a four-year high school. Recently, we have added one preschool class at the primary school. We also have Sutherlin Valley Online Academy, an innovative alternative school, that serves grades three through twelve.

Our students leave our schools with both the foundational academics and applicable skills we're able to offer in our mid-sized district.

A few of our stellar programs include:

  • A four-tiered Career-Technical Education program that focuses on vocational ag-sciences and technology (metal), manufacturing woods and informational technology

  • Bulldog athletics, which includes a four-peat State Champion Girls Basketball program in the 4A OSAA classification.
