Our beloved principal, Beckie Lupton, is transferring to the district office to become our student services director next year. She will be missed at East, but we will view this change as an opportunity to find an outstanding principal.
East is a beautiful facility with a large playground and a history of academic excellence. Our staff is dedicated to student success and works tirelessly on behalf of Sutherlin families. Our ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, instructional leader, and building facilitator.
We have one preschool, five kindergarten, five first-grade, and five second-grade classrooms at East Primary. We work hard to create a positive school climate and use Conscious Discipline practices to support our students. We have three special education teachers at East Primary, two working as Learning Resource Teachers and one teaching in our Developmental Learning classroom. We also have a counselor and a behavior support teacher, who work hand in hand to support students and teachers with challenging student behavior. Along with this tremendous support system, we have a full-time librarian and share a music teacher with West Intermediate.
East Primary is a fantastic place to teach, learn and grow. We need a dynamic leader who wants to grow and learn with us!
