Sutherlin High School and Sutherlin Middle School hosted our Annual Veteran's Visitation Day on February 13th.

This yearly event is one of our favorite days here in Sutherlin School District. Our goal is to show appreciation to our veterans. We also use this experience to teach our students about the incredible sacrifices, history, honor and patriotism of our country's veterans.

A stirring honor guard kicked off the event. Throughout the day, several hundred students had the opportunity to visit with 32 veterans at stations set up in the high school gym, and 15 quilters from the Quilter's Guild made Quilts of Valor for our vets.

It was an amazing day and a fantastic event.

We'd like to give a special shout out to SMS Counselor Amanda Roig, SMS Leadership teacher
Becky Tillett, all her SMS Leadership students, and also thanks to all the staff and students for making this day so awesome.

Most of all, we'd like to thank our veterans for their service. You make us proud!

Go, Bulldogs!
