📚✨ Author Visit Inspires Future Writers!
Today, our 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade students — along with students from the Oakland School District — had the incredible opportunity to hear from New York Times bestselling author April Henry! She inspired us with stories about the power of hard work, thorough research, and believing in your own ideas. 💡✍️
Some students also participated in a special writing workshop and book signing, making it an unforgettable day centered around creativity, storytelling, and chasing your dreams.
A huge thank you to April Henry for sharing her journey, and to our fabulous SMS librarian, Dacia Roberson, whose vision, hard work, and fundraising made this event a reality. This was truly a community effort!
