Busy summer of facility work at Sutherlin Middle and High School. These projects are grant funded and are important steps to improving safety, increasing capacity for our welding program, and updating an aging track surface. We appreciate the efforts of the work crews to complete this work over the summer. Our middle school is getting a seismic retrofit, making classrooms safer for students and staff. Our metal shop is expanding in size, safety, and opportunities for student learning. The track, which SMS, SHS, and UCC use, will be resurfaced. All projects are underway and making great progress.

The first-grade classes had fun this week exploring Rigamajigs. Rigamajigs inspire kids to follow their curiosity through collaboration, creativity, and open-ended play.
