Do you have tweens or teens in your life? Did you know that a pre-teen and teen's brain is different from yours? Certain communication styles can help your child control their emotions and behaviors. Knowing your limits and calming strategies will help you stay balanced and act as a role model for your children. Come and learn with us! This program will be taught by a facilitator trained to teach this evidence-based program. You will get an incentive for coming and a certificate of completion. This course is being offered through Take Root Connections. A big shout out to all the staff, parents, and students that made it through week one! It is always a challenge and exhausting. We are proud of each student for showing up ready to learn. We are thankful for our staff, who cheerfully greeted and welcomed students this week. Finally, we appreciate our parents who have put up with late buses and extended pick-up and drop-off lines and trusted us with your children. East students and families had a chance to visit their classrooms and play on the new playground today. The playground was a huge hit; look at those happy faces.

Sutherlin Police Department has created a wonderful end-of-summer tradition. The department raises money for school supplies, and then they celebrate the end of summer with an ice cream social and a dunk tank. The kids love dunking a police officer, and the Sutherlin Schools love the support and generosity. Thank you, Sutherlin PD; we appreciate you! Engaged students, staff and community!
