What a fun day, students K-5th came together at Central Park to celebrate the kick-off to the summer reading program at the Sutherlin C Giles Hunt Memorial Library. There were also visits from Smokey the Bear, Search and Rescue with their dogs and a special presentation put on by Wildlife Safari. Thank you Sue Gillman for organizing this event and Amanda Roig for taking on all the extra to make this happen!

A huge shoutout to our amazing PTO, thanks for all you do! East Primary loves participating in this annual fundraiser. The Fun Run not only raises money for field trips, snacks and supplies for our kiddos here at East, it is also a lot of fun.

This week our East Primary students learned about where food comes from. Every May the Intro to Ag classes from the high school plan and execute Food for America – a field day with about ten stations of animals, tractors, etc. This is always a fun, engaging learning event that sticks with kids until it is there turn to be the presenter in high school.

Take time to thank a teacher today. Share a memory or kind words for an East teacher that has made a difference in your life. Sometimes it is the little things that make a lasting impression and you can make a teachers day by sharing these moments.
