Classes were able to enjoy an educational and fun lesson on bats and their role in nature.🌳
They learned everything from what bats eat to what kind of toys they enjoy! We are so thankful to our presenter Becky Bass for coming in and showing our students how cool bats can be!🦇

Good afternoon Bull Pup families,

Tomorrow we will be having costume day here at East Primary. This is a reminder that clothes must be worn under costumes, sensible shoes must be worn with costumes, and there may be NO gore, NO weapons, NO masks, NO face paint, and NO inflatable costumes. All costumes must allow students to use the restroom without any assistance. Thank you for your cooperation and we cannot wait to see your students in costume tomorrow!

Our students grabbed their passports and took a "trip" to Thailand in a presentation brought to us by our special guest speaker, Mrs. Pike!

No need to ask your smart devices how to carve a pumpkin; Our students got you covered!🎃

They spent some time fine tuning their writing and explanation skills by writing a step-by-step explanation of how to carve a pumpkin while also carving a REAL pumpkin!✏️

🐾Pup Patch Perfection!🐾

Mrs. McCormick's second grade class has been hard at work tending to the pup patch. Finally, the time has come for them to enjoy the fruits of their labor...or rather the vegetables of their labor!🍅🥒

Dear Families,

To help keep our school environment safe and ready for learning, Sutherlin East Primary will not allow squishy toys, including NeeDoh products, to be brought to school or on the bus. This includes soft, squeezable toys filled with gel, putty, liquid, or other materials.

When these toys are squeezed, damaged, or burst, their contents can spill or spread onto students, clothing, classroom materials, floors, and other surfaces. The contents can be difficult to clean up and may create a distraction or potential safety concern, especially on the bus. Broken toys can also interrupt learning and require staff time to manage the mess.

Please check your child’s backpack and belongings and leave these items at home. If a squishy toy or NeeDoh product is brought to school, staff will ask that it be put away and may hold it in the office for a parent or caregiver to pick up, as needed.

East Primary picture retake day is on Monday, November 2, 2026! If your child was absent on picture day, or if their picture was not quite how you hoped it would turn out, then please make sure to have them here and ready to smile! Picture packets will need to be returned and handed to the photographer before their picture can be retaken. Order forms were sent home with students that do not have a picture on file. If you need another form, you can pick one up in the front office. Thank you!

Last weekend was Our PTO's Annual Halloween bingo. What an amazing night filled with fun and lots of prize winners!🏆

Thank you to all our staff that volunteered your time to help make this event "spook-tacular"!🎃

And thank you to the families that filled the gymnasium with smiles and laughter! We hope to see you at the next PTO event!💙

Every Wednesday a student leads our school in the pledge of allegiance over the announcements. This is an amazing opportunity to build on public speaking skills and boost confidence. Students may sign up with their teachers.

What better way to inspire this concept than a look into our students' future. 
This last week our kindergarteners were able to take a trip over to their future high school for the third annual Bulldog Connection.💙
They exchanged commemorative keychains for class shirts that they will be able to wear for their senior year. 2️⃣0️⃣3️⃣9️⃣

This was such a beautiful experience for everyone involved! Thank you to all our parents that attended and helped put this experience together!

Also, a huge thank you to Mrs. McCracken and her kindergarten team for putting this memorable experience together!
