Sutherlin School District wanted to share that we were busy practicing an evacuation drill today. You may have seen students out walking, encountered some traffic delays, or noticed buses during the middle of the school day. We worked with our Community Emergency Response Team and the Sutherlin Police Department to create an opportunity to practice responding to an emergency evacuation situation.
A great big thank you to the Sutherlin Police Department and Crisis Response Team. They went out of their way to make our district-wide evacuation practice drill run smoothly and safely today. What a wonderful community to call home.

Veterans Day, formerly Armistice Day, was initially set as a U.S. legal holiday to honor the end of World War I, which officially took place on November 11, 1918. In 1938, through an act of Congress, November 11th was made a legal holiday.
Today, we honor all who served in our armed forces and say thank you.
The Sutherlin Firefighter’s Association, Sutherlin School District, and Sutherlin Lions Club Christmas Assistance Program is open and taking applications. Printed applications are available at all the schools and the district office.
Submission of the application does not guarantee acceptance into the SFFA Christmas Assistance Program. The deadline is November 27, 2023, by 5 p.m. Turn this form in to the Sutherlin Fire Department or email this form to jaklynn.callas@ci.sutherlin.or.us
