Learning isn’t just for our students. Last weekend Sutherlin hosted two professional development workshops for dedicated music teachers from around Douglas County. Our morning workshop was led by retired elementary music teachers Brad and Karen Gibbs and had regional music teachers exploring singing, dancing, instruments, collaboration, and beyond.
The afternoon workshop was a reading session for local band teachers. Each instructor brought their instrument and a few of their favorite pieces to share with the group to help directors continue building an effective repertoire of songs to teach students. It was an enjoyable and informative day full of teaching and learning.
